It's almost here, the big night!! Unlike a lot of people, we are having our party on Halloween even though it falls on a week night. Next year it will be on Friday so the whole week-end can be party! But for now, we'll deal with this year.
The house is more or less decorated. Still some things to make. A couple of Halloween wreaths will be nice. I found the instructions here. I also did their idea for a black Halloween tree that I found at Halloween Online's Decorations section. They had a bunch of new stuff on their website this year and it really helped give me ideas for the party!
I'll be trying the idea for a lighted punch bowl that they have in the Recipes section, too. It's going to be a great Halloween party this year!

It's finally here!! October 1st!! I love this time of year!! Autumn is beautiful, leaves start to change colors, the night air is crisp and cool. Best of all, Halloween is right around the corner!! We've started unboxing our Halloween decorations and are really going to go to town. I could leave this stuff up all year long!
We've been planning our annual Halloween party for months and it's all starting to take shape. This will be THE BEST year ever for our Halloween party!! I was looking around Halloween Online's party section and found the theme for this years Halloween party. I'm not going to say what it is in case anyone tht's been invited reads this. You'll just have to wait like everyone else!
We are even going to have a pre-Halloween party for our friends that will be helping us out with the party and haunt this year. We're going to host Halloween Film-Fest with a night of scary movies and snacks. It will be on Friday, October 26th. starting at 6:00pm.
I went to FearfulFilms.com for some movie suggestions and decided to stick with modern classics and will show two of the John Carpenter "Halloween" movies, Halloween 1 and 2. We may stick "Halloween 3: Season of the Witch" in there if the party keeps going. While costumes for the film fest will be optional, we are suggesting dressing up like characters from the Halloween movies. I'm going as Laurie and my hubby is going to be Michael Myers. I think I'll see if I can get a couple of my girlfriends to go as Annie and Linda, after Michael's hacked them up.

We have an annual Halloween party every year. After all it is the Terrible Twosomes wedding anniversary! We set up a haunt in our yard, have a dinner in the house, also decorated and maybe finish off with a horror movie and pumpkin carving. It's usually an adults only party because we go heavy on the gore factor, but we do make a section in the yard for kids that come trick-or-treating so they don't freak out.
Whether you have an adult Halloween costume party or a children's party, you want it to be the best it can be. With the right planning, you can make your party the best ever!
You'll need to plan invitations, food, drink, decorations and music. Decide if you want a theme, say, Vampires, Zombies, Famous Monsters of Hollywood or something else. We always give a prize to the best dressed person and couple, so you'll need prizes of some kind if you do the same.
You'll have to plan your food and drink around how many people you invite. If you invite a small number of people, you can get away with mini foods or appetizers. If you are having a big group, you might want to go all out and make actual meal items.
Decorating can be costly so check discount stores for Halloween decor. We find plenty of paper plates designed for Halloween and everything to go with them at local mass retail "superstores". They also carry inexpensive decorations or ones that you can put together to make centerpieces and displays.
You'll also want to make sure that you have the greatest costumes to wear so plan ahead on that as well!
You can basically use the ideas for the adult party and scale them down for kids. Add some games in to keep them busy. If Halloween is on a week day, have the party the week-end before. Afternoon is a good time for the party but night time makes a Halloween party a bit creepier for kids. Have a scavenger hunt in the back yard, tell spooky stories around a campfire. Make it a party the kids will never forget!
I've gotten lots of ideas at Halloween Online. They have sections for decorating, party ideas, games, food, costumes, you name it. It's a fantastic Halloween resource! Check it out!
